Ecommerce brands and retailers should always keep an ear to the ground for opportunities to reach more customers, expand to new channels, and tap into growing markets. For that reason, we’re sharing an overview of SHEIN Marketplace and how sellers can add this booming channel to their mix.
What is SHEIN Marketplace
SHEIN is a global online retailer that sells everything from fashion, apparel, and lifestyle products to household appliances, electronics, and automotive accessories.
With a reputation for affordable products, SHEIN Marketplace has become an incredibly popular place to shop. In 2023, the SHEIN app was the most downloaded ecommerce app globally, and it has surpassed 500 million downloads in 2024 already.
The marketplace is especially popular with Gen Z and Millennials and has a large consumer base of 230 million active users for U.S. sellers to tap into.
What features are available to SHEIN sellers?
New seller incentives
As of August 2024, new SHEIN Marketplace sellers pay no marketplace fees for the first 30 days. After that, the SHEIN marketplace fee is fixed at 10% across all product categories.
Additionally, SHEIN covers new seller return shipping fees for the first 30 days.
Central seller hub
SHEIN has a central hub where you can access a dashboard to view your orders, product listings, marketing campaigns, data insights, customer service tickets, and educational resources.
Analytics and reporting
SHEIN has a whole host of analytics and reporting tools that you can use to monitor your business health.
You can track metrics like gross merchandise value, conversion rate, return rate, visitor traffic, customer reviews, product rankings, and the average time spent on each stage of order fulfillment. You can even generate custom graphs to analyze product sales trends, inventory requirements, and the impact of marketing campaigns.
Customizable seller store
SHEIN allows you to create a customizable and branded seller store page—using drag-and-drop creation tools with templates and modules—on both mobile and desktop.
Integrated marketing opportunities
SHEIN provides sellers with multiple ways to promote their products, including social campaigns, coupons, flash sales, app pushes, email marketing, and live streams.
You can use flash sales with prominent app and site placements to create a sense of urgency and excitement, prompting customers to act quickly. These are a great way to attract new customers to your brand, move excess inventory, and drive a surge of sales.
Coupons are a versatile, in-platform tool that can help drive sales growth, boost conversion rates, and sell more underperforming items.
You can even have your products featured on SHEIN’s live streams that bring in more than 300,000 unique viewers who interact with influencers, play games, and score SHEIN points by adding items to their cart.
