How to create a Conversant feed

Required Conversant feed fields with a description of each field
Field Name | Short Description |
---|---|
Product ID (product_id) | This is the same product ID given to Conversant in your site tags, not the SKU ID. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product name (product_name) | The product title as it appears on the website. Maximum 500 characters. |
Product URL (url) | Link to the product page on the website. |
Image URL (image_url) | Link to the image of the product. |
Product price (price) | The exact price of the product, in dollars and cents. Do not use a $ symbol. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product department (department) | The department the product belongs to, which should be the same as the department passed to conversant in the product page site tags. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product category (category) | The category the product belongs to, which should be the same as the category passed to conversant in the product page site tags. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product availability (availability) | Either Y (if product is currently available and in stock online) or N (if product currently out of stock). |
Product rating (product_rating_average) | Current average rating out of 5, if product rating count has been supplied. |
Collection type (collection_type) | The type of collection this product is a part of (e.g. outfit, series, etc.). This is required if collection ID has been supplied. Maximum 100 characters. |
Collection image URL (collection_image_url) | Link to an image of the collection, if a collection ID has been supplied. |
Collection URL (collection_url) | Link to the page on your site containing the collection, if a collection ID has been supplied. |
Optional Conversant feed fields with a description of each field

Product description (product_description) | Description of the product as it appears on the website. Maximum 1000 characters. |
Sale price (sale_price) | The exact sale price of the product, in dollars and cents. Do not use a $ symbol. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product sub-category (sub_category) | The sub-category the product belongs to, which should be the same as the sub-category passed to conversant in the product page site tags. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product brand (product_brand) | The brand this product belongs to. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product review count (product_review_count) | Total number of online reviews for the product. |
Product rating count (product_rating_count) | Current number of online ratings out of 5 given for the product. |
Collection ID (collection_id) | The ID of a collection that the product is part of (e.g. outfit, series, etc.). All products in the same collection should have the same collection ID. Maximum 100 characters. |
Product gender (gender) | The gender (mens, womens, boys, girls) the product is associated with. |
Product color (color) | The colour of the product. |
Product size (size) | The size of the product. |
Customized fields | Custom fields containing information specific to your business. This is arranged through your Client Integration Engineer. You can have a maximum of 5 of these fields, with up to 1000 characters in each. |
What formats does Conversant accept?
Your product feed should be submitted as a TAB delimited text file in the following format, replacing your name and MMDDYYYY with your business name and the current date: Your_name_product_feed_MMDDYYYY.txt Do NOT compress this file (zip, rar, etc.).
How to send your feed to Conversant?
You can submit your feed to Conversant via a Secure FTP landing site. You should deliver your product feed at a regular scheduled interview (once a day at the same time recommended). This can be arranged with your Client Integration Engineer (CIE). Your username and password will be provided by your CIE. If you have difficulty access in the landing site, contact your CIE who will need to confirm that your IP has been whitelisted for access.
